    CEO

I am passionate about the visual world, and I care as much about the people behind the work as the work itself. What drives me is understanding creative visions, giving ideas a clear direction and building trusted partnerships that help photographers feel supported in their work, and stay ambitious.

As a photographer & entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience, I love the merger between creativity and business. More than ever, photographers have very specific needs that require custom workflows, and my favourite part running Image Salon has been to build those workflows & tools, finding new, exciting ways to support photographers.

Our story

Supporting photographers since 2014

Image Salon started in 2014 in Montreal, when photographers Davina + Daniel found themselves struggling to find a high quality post-production solution to keep up with their busy workload (and a newborn at the time!). They quickly realized that the key to successfully outsourcing relied heavily on the relationship between the photographer & their editor, in addition to a deep understanding of colour, skin tones, lighting, composition, and photography at large.

More than a decade later, our editors have brought the human touch to over 60 million photos across every genre of photography. Today, the team continues to operate from our studio in Montreal, working 1:1 with photographers & global brands, and powers far more than just colour correction: Ai automated editing, fully custom post-production workflows, Ai + Human hybrid services, and photography-first websites.

Our view on Ai

Over the last few years, Ai has had an immense impact on the photography industry, and on the world at large. Love it or hate it, most will agree that Ai is here to stay.

One of its most controversial applications has been in the arts, the one thing that is most HUMAN. Although we use Ai in our products and processes, we want to make it clear that we stand behind human creativity and artistry, in all of its forms.

We believe that Ai, when used responsibly, can have a positive impact on the business of photography, by taking on repetitive tasks and by holding a lot of information with ease. What Ai should not touch is a photographer's unique ability to see the world.

That is how we approach Ai at Image Salon. It runs as a highly efficient companion across various departments: operations, marketing, engineering, and helps us deliver Web Design and Post-Production services with an efficiency that was impossible just a couple of years ago, all while ensuring our editors and designers remain in control of the products & services we deliver.

Our mission is to be a deeply human company that feels empowered by technology, to continue learning & adapting, and to foster connection & community in this beautiful photography industry.
